Oil pigment process
A printing process, invented by G.H.Rawlins
in 1904. He got a hint from photolithographic process of collotype which
utilizes the reaction of water and oil. The
mixture of geratin and potassium dichromate
on paper is exposed to light under negative.
Moistened with water, the part of geratin
which the light has not fallen on is hardened
and not contain the water. Then treating
with oily ink applied with brushing ,the
ink is taken up in proportion to the hardening
and theink repels the wet part. thus the
picture is come out.
